Music and Mindfulness

Music has been studied and -- and to no one's suprise -- it has an amazing effect on the brain. Different notes -- like the dominant D major or A major have been shown to activate many different parts of the brain. Anyone who has gone to either an opera or a rock concert has experienced the power of music to move through the body, creating a profound psychological and emotional state change. During this complex time of quarantine and pandemic music is medicine -- a great resource that we can all tap in to to change our emotional states. I encourage you to go outside of your comfort zone -- push into a new kind of music perhaps you didn't know you liked -- and see if it works for you to help you either relax, or get motivated, or to experience bliss. This is one of my personal favorites that brings me back to high school and ascends the dark lower chakras of erotic rock and roll to the complex nuanced ascension to heaven.
